You'll begin to realize this wholistic party, headed by their presidential candidate Da Vid, offers an experience full of psychadelic sounds, music, and tranquility.

Da Vid received his M.D. from the University of St. Andrews in 1973. He has run for president in every election since 1992. Da Vid and his Light Party focus heavily on health, empowerment, and spirituality. A rather unique and refreshing point of the party has to do with prevenitive medical practices. Da Vid explains that our health care system only deals with people once they get sick. Little has been done on medical practices that prevent disease and ensure health. Da Vid hopes to bring his ideas on health care to a national audience.

The Light Party has put together a 7-point platform which is supposed to "resolve our current socio-economic and ecological challenges".

The Douginator: What inspired you to create the Light Party? Where did you draw your inspiration?

Da Vid: I am a wholistic MD , I originally started this as The Human Ecology Party in 1984...The FAQ section (of our website) will give you more insight...

The Douginator: Explain the 7 point platform in the simplest of terms please!

Da Vid: Hmmmmmmmmm...We have created a scientific synergistic seven point platform which serves to address and resolve our current socio-economic challenges..the outcome being a dramatic improvement in the quality of life and eventually health peace and freedom for all...

The Douginator: What's the major goal of the party?

Da Vid: To serve as a catalytic agent by bringing the Light Party Message into the mainstream. Through this process we will serve to deepen the political conversation by introducing powerful new ideas and solutions and thus inject genuine hope and hopefully encourage people to embrace their power and thus become change agents...We need to clarify our priorities and take action now to manifest our heartfelt desires ...Health peace and freedom For All...We are a Win Win Party with a genuine humanitarian agenda...We have already claimed victory...highest vision wins!!!

The Douginator: What is the role of music and love in your party?

Da Vid: Art ,particularly inspired art, has the innate power to Inspire, Delight, Heal and Enlighten. As our beloved artist prophet and philosopher John Lennon said ..ALL YOUR NEED IS LOVE..Love is the primal energy of the universe which eternally creates sustains, and maintains all of creation..Love is rooted in Unity...Oneness...whose opposite is seperation......It is fear which is rooted in ignorance(sin) which creates the illusion of separation...Everthing came from the One and All must return to the One..The good news is that WE ARE IN TRUTH ALL ONE!!!

The Douginator: Are Light Party members heavy drug users?

Da Vid: Hmmmmmmm..Well there are drugs and there are enthogens which when used with respect are powerful sacraments. Regarding our members, we have not taken a survey of our members proclivity for Drugs because it really is not any of our business..In this sense you may say I am a true libertarian..It really is not any of our business..we learn through our choices..This is real freedom and it is fundamental to the philosophy of the Light Party...personally, I am highly educated about drugs both legal and "illegal"'.We firmly believe and respect freedom Of Choice ..This not to say that certain drugs both legal and illegal if misused ,abused can destroy your life (at least temporarily)... Make no mistake about it, the conscious use of empathogens(Ecstacy) and enthogens have potentially profound spiritual and psychological healing qualities ..hence their use throughout the ages in all cultures throughout aeons of time..In an enlightened society these types of substances would not be banned but embraced as powerful tools for spiritual growth and heightened awareness...

The Douginator: I watched an interview with you...what's with all of the crazy colors and music?

Da Vid: You mean artainment ,we employ sacred geometries, fractals and beautiful music to facilitate a transformative transcendental experience. Yes, an altered state if you like which hopefully will lead to a deeper perception and appreciation of reality...

The Douginator: What kind of people belong to your party? Anyone belong to your party that we might now expect?

Da Vid: We like to believe that we are totally inclusive and we feel if people actually check us out they may realize the profound gift that is The Light Party...They are many supporters who understand what we are about ..we feel that we offer something significant for everybody..however people have to be willing to go deeper to fully appreciate the depth of our visionary program and understand that they need to be co-creators in furthering the vision, purpose and goals of the LP...

The Douginator: What issue being discussed in this year's presidential campaign do you find most interesting?

Da Vid: First of all people need to understand that we are not really electing a president Of THE USA..we are exercising a proxy vote to elect the next CEO Of America Inc. I feel Barack is attempting to bring back a sense of Idealism and goodness into the mainstream and is attempting to unite an apparently highly divided angry and cynical nation..this is important and admirable...
Ron Paul had or has some very important economic issues which he has brought to light..Barack has brought up the issue of race which needs to be addressed..America suffers from a profound degree of denial..This is where the LP comes in..shine the Light and uncover the darkness, the lies, disinformation ,etc...Nobody in the mainstream has taken on the Military-Industrial complex..Nor have they really educated the American people to the abject failure of American foreign policy...It is time for some major course corrections most importantly we need to fully embrace genuine spiritual values as a people and a nation..when we individually and collectively internalize spiritual values War as a diplomatic tool will be permanently discarded...Dont you think it is obscene that we spend 800 Billion for the military budget..You do not need to be a Harvard professor to realize how this enormous amount of money could be more wisely spent!!!???

The Douginator: How can the 7 point platform improve our lives?

Da Vid: I suggest people first look into how people can dramatically improve and safeguard their personal health and commit to do our very best in protecting the environment and thus assuring clean air , water and healthy organic food for everybody...This is political..and it is essential..healthy people is synonymous with a healthy society ..THE STRENGTH OF OUR NATION IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE HEALTH OF OUR PEOPLE

The Douginator: The Light Party seems to be highly spiritual...do people of all religions belong in the Light Party?

Da Vid: Absolutely!!!

The Douginator: If you weren't running, who would you be most likely to vote for: McCain, Hillary, or Obama. Why?

Da Vid: My vote has not been cast as yet..However, No on McCain..The last thing this country needs is another phoney "War hero' ... Why is this guy considered a war hero ??!!! The Vietnam War just as the Iraqi War was started on false premises...

The Douginator: We have interviewed a pretty diverse group of individuals who happen to be running for president. How would you bring together these vampires, nude performance artists, fascists, socialists, and everything in between?

Da Vid: Good question..the reality is behind all these masks resides a genuine human being who is simply playing a role which is all part and parcel of the grand phantasmagoria called life..We have an open tent and everyone is invited to come on in an join the party..Time to celebrate!!!
